Best Places to Eat in Panama City Beach During Spring Break

Between the beach, the clubs, and the general chaos of spring break, eating well gets overlooked. Most spring breakers default to fast food and whatever’s closest to their hotel. But PCB actually has some legitimately good restaurants — places where the food is worth sitting down for, even during the madness of spring break.

Beachfront and Strip Dining

Sharky’s Beachfront Restaurant: Beyond being a great nightlife venue, Sharky’s serves solid food. The grouper sandwich is a PCB classic, and the wings are consistently good. Sitting on the beachfront deck with a cold drink and fresh seafood is peak spring break dining.

Pineapple Willy’s: Known for ribs and their signature rum drinks. The beachfront location makes it as much about the atmosphere as the food. Their seasoned ribs are genuinely worth the trip.

Schooners: “The Last Local Beach Club” serves better food than most spring break-adjacent restaurants. Fresh Gulf seafood, solid burgers, and a deck that overlooks the water. The sunset cannon ceremony adds to the experience.

Seafood Worth Seeking Out

Capt. Anderson’s Restaurant: A PCB institution since 1967. This is where you go for a proper seafood dinner — fresh catches, a raw bar, and a waterfront setting on Grand Lagoon. It’s a step above the strip restaurants in quality and price, and worth it for a special dinner.

Dee’s Hang Out: A no-frills seafood joint that locals love. The fried fish baskets and hushpuppies are simple, cheap, and delicious. No ambiance — just good food at fair prices.

Hunt’s Oyster Bar: If you like oysters, this is the spot. A local favorite off the main tourist drag with fresh oysters, shrimp, and a no-nonsense dive bar atmosphere.

Quick and Casual

Thomas Donuts: A PCB breakfast institution. The donuts are fresh, hot, and cheap. Get there early — they sell out. This is the perfect hangover breakfast stop.

Finn’s Island Style Grub: Tacos, bowls, and tropical-inspired food that’s perfect for a quick, tasty lunch between the beach and the clubs.

Andy’s Flour Power Café: Great breakfast and lunch spot with fresh-baked pastries, sandwiches, and coffee. A solid upgrade from the hotel continental breakfast.

Late Night Eats

Harpoon Harry’s: The legendary after-hours spot. Open when everything else is closed, serving the breakfast food that thousands of spring breakers need at 3 AM. Pancakes, burgers, and eggs have never tasted better than they do after a night at the clubs.

Waffle House: Multiple locations in the PCB area. The universal late-night fallback. Cheap, always open, and exactly what you need after midnight.

The Strategy

Eat cheap during the day (groceries, fast food, beach snacks) and save one or two nicer dinners for sit-down restaurants. Sharky’s or Pineapple Willy’s are great for a group dinner that doubles as pre-gaming. Capt. Anderson’s is the move if you want one “nice” meal during the trip.
