What to wear to a foam party.

A foam party is a wet night. Everything you wear gets soaked, so the goal is simple: clothes that can handle it and a way to keep your essentials dry. The dress tips here are our own advice. The party details come from PCB.

Which PCB parties are foam parties?

Two, both at Hammerhead Fred's:

• The World Famous Foam Party: massive foam cannons, touring DJs and packed dance floors. Thursdays Mar 4, 11 and 18, and Wednesday Mar 24.
• The Aqua Wet 'n Wild Foam Party: waves of bubbles, touring DJs, lasers and strobes. Sundays Mar 7, 14 and 21.

What should you wear?

Swimwear or quick-dry shorts and a tee you do not mind ruining. Cotton soaks up foam and stays heavy all night, so lighter fabrics are easier. Skip anything delicate, anything you would be upset to stain and anything that needs adjusting every five minutes.

What shoes work best?

Shoes with grip. Foam makes a floor slick, and a wet dance floor is not the place for flip-flops that slide. Sneakers you do not mind soaking, or water shoes with a strap, are the safe pick. Leave anything new or expensive at the hotel.

What should you bring?

Keep it short:

• A waterproof pouch or sealed zip bag for your phone, valid photo ID and PCB Club Card.
• A towel and a dry top for the walk back. A wet walk home is colder than it sounds in March.
• Glasses instead of contacts, if you wear them. Foam stings if it gets in your eyes.

What should you leave at the hotel?

Jewelry, a good watch, a purse and a spare phone. Wet floors and big crowds are hard on small things. If you want photos, a waterproof case is the easiest fix.

How does entry work with the card?

The foam parties follow the Hammerhead Fred's card rules:

• Ultimate: free entry all night.
• Platinum: free entry until 11 PM.
• Fred's Card: free entry 8 to 10 PM, at Fred's only.

Ultimate and Platinum also get free drinks 3 to 5 PM and 8 to 10 PM, for guests 21+ with valid photo ID. For the foam parties PCB lists the free-drink hours as 8 to 10 PM. You need valid photo ID to get in: 18+ to enter, 21+ to drink. Details: how the card works.

How do you pace a foam night?
