Platinum vs Ultimate: the 11 PM question.

One question decides it: do you plan to be out past 11 PM?

18+ to enter / 21+ to drink, valid photo ID required

TL;DRPlatinum is $100 and gets free entry until 11 PM. Ultimate is $200 and gets free entry all night, plus Express VIP entry and a VIP section. Both include the same free drink windows, a free Beach Blast and one event. If you will be out after 11 PM most nights, Ultimate. If not, Platinum.

Platinum is labeled "most popular." Ultimate is the top tier. They share most perks and differ on a few. Here is how they line up, using what PCB lists on its card page.

What do Platinum and Ultimate have in common?

  • Free drinks 3 to 5 PM (6 days) and 8 to 10 PM (7 nights): beer and a pre-mixed liquor option, 21+ with valid photo ID
  • One ticketed special event included
  • A free Beach Blast, with drinks and food included
  • Discounts at restaurants and businesses across PCB
  • Entry to all nightly parties, all week, with no blackout dates

What decides it?

Time. Platinum entry is free until 11 PM. After that, it is not. If your group usually heads out at 10 and stays until close, you are in the zone where Ultimate matters. If you are going out early and leaving early, Platinum covers it.

Ask yourselves:

  1. What time do we plan to get to the party?
  2. Do we want to stay past 11 PM?
  3. Do we want VIP or fast entry?

If the answers are "early, no, no," Platinum is the clear pick. If they are "late, yes, yes," go Ultimate.

What about the parties that start late?

PCB does not list start times for most parties on the card page, so check each party's page on PCB before you decide. Our party guides point to the right pages.

What if you are not sure?

Be honest about how you go out. A card is sold by week, so you choose once. DoItForBreak explains what the card is from the trip side. And our post on what to do after 11 PM on Platinum covers the late-night plan.

What about the Fred's Card?

The $80 Fred's Card is a different product: free entry 8 to 10 PM at Fred's only, and no free drinks. If you plan to party at more than one venue, it is not the right fit. See who the Fred's Card is for.

One note on the whole group

Each person needs their own card. Everyone can pick a different level. That means entry times differ inside one group. Plan for it: getting your whole group in.
