Water Sports in PCB During Spring Break: Jet Skis, Parasailing & More

The Gulf of Mexico isn’t just for swimming and tanning. Panama City Beach has a full menu of water sports and activities that give you an adrenaline rush, a change of pace from the clubs, and some of the best photos of your trip.

Jet Skiing

The most popular water sport in PCB during spring break. Jet ski rentals are available at multiple locations along the beach, with prices typically running $60–$100 per hour for a single-rider ski or $80–$120 for a double.

Tips: Go in the morning when the water is calmest and the rental lines are shortest. Always wear the provided life jacket. Stay within the marked zones. Bring sunscreen — the sun reflecting off the water accelerates burning.

Parasailing

Get a bird’s-eye view of the entire PCB strip from 500+ feet up. Parasailing rides run about $60–$80 per person and last 10–15 minutes in the air (plus boat time). Multiple operators launch from the beach and from Grand Lagoon.

Tips: Book in advance during peak weeks. Morning flights tend to have calmer winds. This is one of the best photo opportunities of the trip — make sure your phone is secured in a waterproof pouch.

Paddleboarding and Kayaking

Calmer activities for days when you want to be on the water without the engine noise. Paddleboard rentals run $20–$40/hour. Kayak rentals are similar.

Best spots: The bay side of St. Andrews State Park offers calm, flat water perfect for paddleboarding. Grand Lagoon is also excellent — sheltered from Gulf swells.

Banana Boat Rides

A group activity where 4–8 people ride an inflatable banana-shaped raft towed by a speedboat. It’s silly, it’s fun, and it’s guaranteed to dump you into the water at least once. Rides run $20–$30 per person.

Snorkeling

The jetties at St. Andrews State Park and the waters around Shell Island offer surprisingly good snorkeling. Visibility varies by day, but on clear days you can see a variety of tropical fish, crabs, and other marine life. Snorkel gear can be rented for $10–$20/day.

Deep Sea Fishing

Half-day fishing charters run $80–$150 per person and take you into deeper Gulf waters where you can fish for red snapper, grouper, mahi-mahi, and king mackerel. Full-day trips run $150–$250+.

Tips: Book the morning trip if you’re prone to seasickness — afternoon winds create bigger swells. Take motion sickness medication 30 minutes before departure.
